According to the spoiler video, Sami thinks she's finally going to get her happily ever after, only for Chad to rush in and grab Lucas by the collar.

Chad thinks that Lucas killed Abigail. He's probably wrong, but that doesn't mean that's the end of Lucas' trouble.

Chad helped Lucas cover up his involvement in Sami's kidnapping, and he will likely accuse Lucas of killing Abigail to keep the lies going.

That means Sami will learn the truth and kick Lucas to the curb.

Ugh. Lucas and Sami have always been the "it" couple. No one can handle Sami's tantrums and impulsivity as well as Lucas can, and when he was drinking, Sami was the only one who could get through to him.

But now, the writers have turned Lucas into a quasi-villain. Only time will tell if this is supposed to be a bump in the road for a Sami and EJ reunion.

Hopefully not. EJ has done far worse things to Sami, and she's taken him back every time. This is also the same soap opera where a former serial killer is now a hero.

Besides, since Allison Sweeney is only available on a part-time basis, there's not much point in putting her back with EJ, who is in Salem full-time.

Most likely, Sami will leave town to lick her wounds. This whole story seems like a convoluted mess and a slap in the face to Lumi fans. We've waited forever for our couple to get together, only for the writers to destroy the relationship once it happened.

Displeased About Sami's Wedding - Days of Our Lives

EJ is displeased when Johnny informs him it's Lucas and Sami's wedding day.

EJ knows that Lucas kidnapped Sami, but is that all there is to his upset?

He told Belle he was over Sami, but it doesn't seem like it.

On the other hand, he might have been hoping Sami could be his rebound since Belle seems to have lost interest in him.

Allie Presses Nicole - Days of Our Lives

Nicole and Eric are over. Nicole is marrying Rafe.

There is no reason for all of Salem to try to undo that. Just be happy that Nicole has found someone new!

Lucas Confesses - Days of Our Lives

It's unlikely that Lucas will tell Will that he kidnapped Sami.

He was acting weird last time Will saw him, though, and he probably is going to admit he doesn't remember the night Abigail was killed.

Lucas isn't the murderer, but he suddenly fell off the wagon, and his lack of memory makes him a convenient suspect. Will might try to get to the bottom of it to clear his dad's name.

A Slip of the Tongue - Days of Our Lives

Kate has a slip of the tongue with Chad.

Until now, Chad believed that Lucas didn't know that Abigail knew the truth.

Kate is probably going to let the truth slip. And then Chad will assume Lucas killed Abigail.

Chad is a loose cannon right now who jumps on any shred of evidence and gets physical with the suspects. This needs to stop.

Lucas and Sami's Wedding Begins - Days of Our Lives

Lumi fans may be able to get a few moments of happiness before everything falls apart.

Sami thinks she's finally going to have her happily ever after, and she and Lucas may have a few romantic moments.

Unfortunately, it's not going to last, and these two probably aren't going to tie the knot.

Sami's World Turns Upside Down - Days of Our Lives

Lucas and Sami's wedding takes an unexpected turn.

As mentioned above, loose cannon Chad is busy attacking anyone he thinks could have killed Abigail.

This is the wrong way to handle the investigation. And what happened to Clyde being under arrest for Abigail's murder?

If Lucas turns out to be innocent, Chad will have ruined his wedding and caused a lot of unnecessary drama.

Kate Comes Clean - Days of Our LIves

Kate comes clean with Roman.

Please tell us this isn't the end of their relationship too!

Kate will have to tell Roman the truth about Lucas' involvement in Sami's kidnapping, and Roman won't be happy.

Roman and Kate are another fan favorite, so blowing up their relationship doesn't seem like a good idea, but how will straight-laced Roman overlook what Kate knew about his daughter's kidnapping?

Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem Explains Why Hope Has Been M.I.A., Brings Back [Spoiler] After 3 Decades

The week-long event begins with Ciara and Ben arriving in Montreal, where they’re greeted by none other than Hope Williams Brady (played by Kristian Alfonso, who left Days in 2020). It’s all hugs and kisses as Hope finally meets her grandson, but once the group is settled in Hope’s new Canadian digs, the gloves come off.

Ciara rips into her mother, demanding to know why she didn’t return to Salem for her and Ben’s real wedding, much less for the birth of their son.

“There are a lot of people who loved you who were very hurt when you weren’t around,” she says. “Shawn, your son, Grandpa Doug, Grandma Julie — I guess that just means you don’t care about us anymore. That must be it.”

Hope insists that this is “the furthest thing from the truth,” and that Ciara, Shawn and baby Bo are the most important people to her in the world. She pleads with Ciara not to judge her because, as Hope says, “I judge myself harshly enough as it is.”

Thinking that her mother has been harboring dangerous secrets, Ciara is actually relieved when Hope says that she’s been busy coaching figure skating at a nearby rink. But that’s only part of the truth (if true at all), as we later see Hope poring over a folder of top-secret ISA files after Ciara has gone to bed.

To her credit, Hope starts to tell Ben and Ciara the truth over breakfast the next morning, but the big reveal is interrupted by a knock at the door. It’s a shady gentleman named Harris Michaels (played by soap vet Steve Burton), the same man viewers saw kidnapping Patch and John Black earlier in the hour. But the only thing he comes armed with this time are flowers for Hope, which she happily receives… along with a kiss!

So here’s the big question as we head into Tuesday’s second episode: Is Hope blinded by love, or is she secretly aware that the man she’s dating is working for — wait for it — Stefano DiMera’s presumed-dead daughter Megan Hathaway?! Kidnapping aside, can anything good come from the return of a DiMera, not to mention one that’s been in hiding since 1985?

Other developments in Episode 1…

* If you’re displeased by the sight of Hope kissing the enemy, just imagine how Bo feels! Via the magic of streaming television, Hope’s ex has a front-row seat to the action from heaven, where an angel named Angela (played by the incomparable Loretta Devine) is punishing him for bringing Tripp back to life earlier this year. Apparently getting into heaven is a lot easier than playing by its rules.

Days Of Our Lives Beyond Salem * Prior to being kidnapped by Michaels, Patch arrives in Seattle with Kayla to pay the Johnson kids a surprise visit. Of course, neither of them could have predicted that a bomb (disguised as a pizza box, as if nothing is sacred!) would land Stephanie in the hospital.

Days of our Lives spoilers reveal secrets will blow up one couple’s hope for happily ever after as a truth bomb rocks Salem.

As the temperatures continue to rise outside, Days is heating things up for July sweeps. The fallout of Abigail’s (Marci Miller) murder remains front and center.

Sami and Lucas

Once again, Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) and Sami (Alison Sweeney) are in love and ready to make another trip down the aisle. Although this will be their fourth wedding, Sami and Lucas have only been married once.

Will (Chandler Massey) and Allie (Lindsay Arnold) are there to watch their parents say I Do. Johnny (Carson Boatman), Marlena (Deidre Hall), Roman (Josh Taylor), and Kate (Lauren Koslow) round out the group of guests.

The guests aren’t all thrilled with the quickie nuptials, as Kate and Roman have looks of here we go again on their faces. Eric (Greg Vaughan) is on hand to perform the ceremony too.

By the looks of the promo video, a second marriage probably won’t be in the cards for Lumi. In true soap opera fashion, the bride looks fabulous, and the couple gushes over each other.

Then the dreaded words “happily ever after” are said.

Chad barges into the wedding in a rage

Things go awry at the wedding when Chad (Billy Flynn) bursts into the church on the warpath. Chad’s target is Lucas.

Days of our Lives spoilers teased that Kate makes a massive mistake that has disastrous consequences for her son. The preview video makes it pretty clear that Kate’s slip-up has everything to do with the night Abigail was murdered and Lucas blacked out.

Lucas wasn’t thrilled that Abigail and Chad knew he was the person behind Sami’s kidnapping, not EJ. It was the reason he fell off the wagon.

A rage-filled Chad attacks Lucas, demanding answers and questioning if Lucas killed his wife. Sami screams in horror as chaos erupts at the wedding, with guests attempting to pull Chad off Lucas.

The preview video ends there, leaving Days fans in suspense. Since Alison Sweeney was only slated to reprise Sami for a short time, it’s likely all of Lucas’ secrets will come flooding out.

If Chad believes Lucas hurt Abigial, he will have no problems spilling all the tea at the wedding. That means Sami will not only learn that Lucas was drinking again, but he was her kidnapper all along.

It is going to be another must-see week in Salem! Be sure to tune in daily so not a moment is missed. Plus, remember Beyond Salem Season 2 drops on Peacock next week too.

Allie is taking over Nicole's lease and admits Chanel has not chosen but she is excitedly dressed up for her parents' wedding. Nicole makes a snide remark ... Sami boasts she needs no more crutches and cannot wait to dance with hubby today. Marlena is happy for her ... Lucas is struggling with cufflinks when Will arrives and wonders why the bandage on his hand. Lucas looks tense ... Chad is alone at the park speaking to Abigail, who is no more. Stylish Kate comes along and asks what she can do. Chad sighs his daughter saw his sadness so Jack and Jen took the kids for a swim. Kate is sympathetic. Meanwhile Sami gets sarcastic about Belle with Marlena and assumes Jan is swimming with the fishes. And then she teases him for not being happy about Lucas marrying Sami again ... Johnny sensed papa's pain. Sami believes this is the best thing for her to do ... Lucas assures Allie that Clyde is guilty and blames EJ for hiding how Clyde threatened the family ... Will sits with Chad, who senses something and wants to help. Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem is officially turning the page to chapter 2.

Ahead of Monday's premiere, PEOPLE is offering a First Look at eight exclusive photos from the new season of the spin-off.

Bringing back characters from the long-running daytime soap Days of Our Lives, chapter 2 will find the cast taking on an "adventure of a lifetime."

"In an epic, action-packed tale that spans the entire globe, from Monte Carlo to Hong Kong, beloved characters from Days of Our Lives once again go Beyond Salem as they trade the comforts of home for an adventure of a lifetime!" according to a release.

"Over the course of five thrilling episodes, heartwarming family reunions take a dangerous turn as a mysterious adversary wreaks havoc on their lives," release continues. "The next chapter of Beyond Salem is a story full of larger-than-life romance, jaw-dropping twists, and high-stakes drama — and it all connects back to a plot that long-time DOOL fans will surely remember."

In a less disconcerting shot, Paul is happily celebrating Pride in his rainbow jacket as he carries a beer inside several stacked red solo cups.

A similar photo, taken at the same celebration, also shows John in a rainbow striped tank-top and necklace preparing to drink from a keg beside Paul and a shirtless man.

Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem premiered in September 2021.

This past April, Alfonso, 58, spoke with PEOPLE about how she was a "nervous wreck" upon returning to the DOOL spin-off series. (The actress debuted on DOOL in 1983. She has left and returned several times over the years and last appeared onscreen in October of 2020.)

"I think, probably just the lead up of it all, I want it to be great. I put the pressure on myself. I am definitely looking forward to working with Petey," she said of seeing her costar Peter Reckell, who has played her onscreen husband Bo Brady on and off since the '80s.

"The viewers are going to be so happy," she noted. "And what they see, it's going to be super fun. They want to keep it a surprise because there's so many different things happening, and characters that are reappearing, that they wanted to be a surprise."
