Judi Evans has been there, done that, and won a Daytime Emmy Award for her efforts. And now she has a major milestone that needs celebrating.
And that’s because she was born on July 12, 1964, in Montebello, California, which means that this talented soap hopper is turning 58 years old today! After spending her formative years in a traveling circus, Evans decided to pursue an acting career.
In 1983, she joined the cast of Guiding Light and spent the next three years portraying the fragile, perpetually-in-peril Beth Raines. Once she exited that role, Evans stepped into another: Adrienne Johnson on Days of our Lives.
Her arrival coincided with the advent of “supercouple fever” and her eventual pairing with Wally Kurth’s Justin Kiriakis proved instantly popular. Upon playing out a storyline-dictated exit, Evans appeared on yet another NBC soap opera. As Another World’s Paulina Cory, Evans was given the opportunity to play a tempestuous fun-loving schemer, a rare character in her repertoire up to that point.
After going Into (brief) semi-retirement, Evans returned to acting, and the DAYS set in 2003 although she wasn’t there to reprise her role of Adrienne. Instead, she played a wholly original character, Bonnie Lockhart, for the next four years.
Evans reprised the Adrienne part in 2010 and continued to play both her and Bonnie (on-and-off) for a decade. Evans’s other acting credits include episodes of The Mentalist, a guest arc on As the World Turns, and starring roles in the made-for-TV films Getting Away with Murder: The JonBenet Ramsey Mystery and Screening Party.
